Remo Chemo Smoke Report

  • Remo Chemo cannabis seeds by Dinafem Seeds belong to a feminised Indica-dominant marijuana plant
  • She was born from a collaboration with the legendary Canadian cannabis grower Urban Remo
  • With this clearly Indica-dominant creation, Dinafem Seeds managed to make Urban Remo's favourite cannabis strain accessible to all

In the Autumn of 2017, Dinafem Seeds and Remo "The Urban Grower" released a strain that is fast becoming a legend within the cannabis community. Placing as "best indica" twice and being nominated as one of High Times best strains of the year in 2017, all within 6 month of being released. Of course, I'm talking about Remo Chemo.

This is a strain created in Canada, feminized in Spain (by Dinafem) and is a cross between UBC chemo and Bubba Kush. The strain has been grown by Remo for many years and is rapidly becoming a firm favourite throughout Europe. As soon as you see and smell the flowers, you can see why this strain is becoming so renowned and why Remo holds her in such high regards.

Now we have that out-of-the-way, let's get the fun started and see what all the fuss is about.

Physical appearance

From what I'm told by the grower, this strain was very easy to trim up come harvest and that shows in the beautifully presented end product.

The buds/flowers have been manicured perfectly to reveal some very densely structured buds as you would expect from an "ultra Indica hybrid" strain. Showing colours ranging from dark green through to a deep dark purple on the flowers. With dark brown/amber pistils and a very heavy coating of trichomes. When looked at under the 100x microscope, the trichomes are all well-formed and intact. Showing long stems and 5% clear, 65% cloudy, 30% amber colour trichome heads.

Very impressive looking flowers. Beautiful in appearance. Now let's see what she smokes like.

Smoke test

When testing new strains, more specifically flowers, I like to use 2 methods, one being a water bong for a fast hit and the other a vaporizer to get more flavour.

First let's start with the bong test

The hit was very hard and gave immediate pain relief. I was very surprised at how fast this strain worked, so if you need fast pain relief this is the strain for you!

The taste given off has hints of fruit mixed with spice and an underlying coffee taste which I suspect is down to the heavy Kush, more specifically, the Bubba Kush influence.

Now onto the vaporizer test

With the vaporizer, the effects are much more laid back but still produce outstanding results for both my anxiety and my wife's migraines, and the flavours are coming through much more. Now I can taste the Kush and that coffee flavour is the most prominent with very subtle fruit flavours in the background.

Out of the two methods I used, I would have to say that the water bong delivered the faster hit and most euphoric high, whereas the vaporizer allowed me to get the most flavour whist still delivering the medicinal properties I need. So the vaporizer would be my choose method!

Final thoughts

When I was first told about this strain I though "how can this fail", and after testing I was correct. If you love your Kush strains with added vigour during the growth stage and potency look no further than this strain.

The high from this strain is very strong, so I would not recommend her to the novice smoker/consumer due to the very intense high. This strain is for the people that need high, fast THC or love their heavy hitting indicas. One of the most potent Kush hybrids I have come across and one I'll be keeping around for many years to come.

If you get the chance to try this strain, I highly recommend it - pardon the pun - and I hope that this is not the last time we see these two companies collaborate. I would love to see what other strains Remo has hidden away and ready to share with the world.

So there you have it. A heavy hitting indica packed full of flavour with outstanding medical benefits. How can you go wrong?
