How THC in Cannabis Destroys Cancerous Cells, as Seen under the Microscope

  • In this video you can see how THC weakens and kills carcinogenic cells while leaving healthy cells intact. The uses of cannabis for cancer treatment are becoming increasingly evident.

The number of medicinal uses of cannabis being discovered is rising day by day. Likewise, there are many research studies, researchers and doctors who maintain that marijuana acts against cancer by reducing it and alleviating the effects caused by the illness and several of its treatments.

In the following video you yourself can see how correct doses of THC (the psychoactive component in cannabis) can weaken carcinogenic cells until it kills them off, while the healthy cells remain unaffected. Therefore, the healthy cells end up becoming dominant and are present in higher numbers than the sick cells.

Studies relating to cannabis use for cancer treatments first appeared in the 1970’s (although only now have people begun to pay attention to them). In 1974, the Washington Post reported a research project that found THC to slow the growth of lung and breast cancers, as well as leukaemia. All of the illnesses had been placed into rats in a laboratory, and the rats treated with cannabis survived 36% longer than those treated without it.

Paul Armentano, an analyst at NORML (National Organisation for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, in the United States), explains that cannabinoids are offering hope to patients suffering from this serious illness. Even the National Institute on Drug Abuse in the United States has admitted to the innumerable medicinal benefits of the plant: it increases appetite, reduces nausea and reduces pain and inflammation.

Furthermore, the above factors along with the fact that cannabinoids do not affect the behaviour of the consumer, means that they are a suitable method of treating diverse illnesses. This has led many patients to call for the legalisation of medicinal marijuana in the places where they live.
