Blue Hash Principal

Blue Hash: High yielding, tasty and colourful

  • Some strains are appreciated for their pungent aroma, others play the card of appearance and others, such as Dinafem’s Blue Hash, win you over with their incredible yields even in cold, wet climates.
  • But don’t get us wrong, her unique aroma with hints of earth and berries is every bit as amazing.
  • Moreover, this seed is the perfect choice for commercial growing and for the production of high-quality hash.
Blue Hash Principal

If you live and grow in an area where high temperatures are not the norm, this cannabis seed will be a godsend for your outdoor garden. Dinafem's Blue Hash is a feminised, Indica-dominant strain that results from the cross between California Hash Plant and Blueberry, retaining the high resin yields of the former and the impressive purple hues of the latter. Plus, her predecessors, particularly California Hash Plant, have given her the ability to withstand cold, wet weather, producing buds of the highest quality even in harsh climatic conditions.

Extremely easy to grow both indoors and outdoors, experienced growers recommend Blue Hash to newbies as an excellent way of taking their first steps in cannabis cultivation. Contrary to her mother Blueberry, whose nutrition needs to be constantly monitored, Blue Hash reaches her full potential with very little care as she doesn't require a special diet.

In any case, Blue Hash definitely takes after Blueberry in the looks department, showcasing the same distinctive purple/violet hues that turn her into a feast for the eyes. Even if unexperienced growers may panic when the green tonalities – the most common ones in marijuana plants – give way to the purple ones, the process is perfectly normal in some genetics. As in other strains, it is due to the action of anthocyanins, a type of pigment found in cannabis and other plants' cells that manifest itself in different parts of the strain.

Night-time beauty

The so-called 'blue' strains develop their distinctive purple hues only under certain environmental conditions. For some strains the change in colour coincides with the change in season, while for others a drop in temperatures at night is enough. This is the case with Blue Hash, who is genetically predisposed to prioritize anthocyanins over chlorophyll, letting them cover her canopy with amazing colours. That said, even if the strain is prone to it, the colours will remain unaltered if the temperature conditions are not favourable.

Quality, speed and high yields

But beyond her unique surprising colour, Dinafem's Blue Hash is a sturdy, fast-flowering marijuana plant that stands out for her amazing yields, which are just perfect if you grow for commercial purposes. In just seven weeks, you will be harvesting a bumper crop of fragrant, sticky buds covered in a thick trichome layer, no wonder therefore that Blue Hash is one of the most sought-after strains by extract lovers and, as the name suggests, for making dry sift hash.

Indoors you can expect crops of up to 450 grams per square meter in about 50-55 days of flowering – lamps of 600+ watts are recommended for best results –, while outdoors she can reach up to 2.5 meters in height all while producing a delicious crop with very little care. The substrate won't be an issue either as this is a highly rewarding strain that will produce up to 900 grams per plant provided the soil is well drained.

Tip: As you may well know, cold, wet conditions are often a breeding ground for mould and may pose a serious threat to your crop. This is not the case for Dinafem's Blue Hash, which has been proven to be highly resistant to this kind of hazards. That said, if you are growing outdoors experienced growers recommend applying some sort of preventive treatment to avoid fungi such as powdery mildew and botrytis. You may also want to consider some other product to keep caterpillars and snails at bay.

Second to none flavour and effect

The flavour and aroma of Dinafem's Blue Hash do not lag behind her other strong points, so be prepared for your taste buds to be enlivened with her notes of wet earth and her extremely sweet undertone of berries that becomes more apparent on the exhale.

The effect is soothing and long-lasting, perfect for unwinding when you get home after a hard day at work. Some people even use the deep sense of wellbeing Blue Hash provides as a means of fighting insomnia and stress. Definitely a great choice for medicinal use as she stimulates the appetite as well as relieving muscle pain and depression.
