Diesel Principal

Diesel, fuel your marijuana grow

  • Coming from a strain that marked a turning point in the cannabis industry, this genetics by Dinafem will win you over both with her amazing physical traits and her strong organoleptic profile. Its unique oil aroma and her soft, pleasant effect make Diesel the perfect choice for any quality grow.
Diesel Principal

Dinafem's feminized Diesel originates from a long line of legendary strains, and in much the same way as the peculiar, strong-flavoured ChemDawg, whose name changed according to the growing method employed – organic or chemical – she made her appearance in New York with no clear name. There, she was crossed with SuperSkunk and Northern Light, resulting in the original Diesel line, which eventually became one of the most popular ones in the US with examples such as New York City Diesel and Sour Diesel.

Conquering the palates of Americans, with their highly competitive cannabis market, is anything but easy. But Diesel's surprising and penetrating oil aroma, together with her bearable effect and her many other qualities – keep reading to find them out – have turned her into a world cannabis classic, now with an exotic touch thanks to the cross between Mexican Sativa and Afghani #1.

Her mere presence will make your day

As you can see in the video, this strain has some unique features. Medium-sized but surprisingly vigorous and hardy, Diesel grows in the shape of a Christmas tree yielding great amounts of compact buds all along the central stem and the side shoots with virtually no effort. And if you're of the impatient kind, you are in luck, this strain has a short flowering period of just 65 days.

Great yields indoors and outdoors

Growers with many crops under their belt recommend SOG and SCROG for indoors, where under the right conditions, you can expect up to 475 grams per square meter. Anyway, Diesel will thrive equally well outdoors provided she has enough space to grow, as she can reach 3 meters in height. Outdoors, she should be ready for mid-October and yield up to 950 grams of top-notch cannabis per plant.

As hard as rock

If you opt for outdoor growing, mould shouldn't be an issue. That said, you should consider protecting your plant in a high-eave greenhouse if you live in a cold, wet region, as she can find it a bit harder to adapt. But if the climate is Mediterranean-like, the feminised Diesel will be a wall against disease.

Her amazing organoleptic profile is another of her key features, so be prepared for your grow to be pervaded with the incredible tropical aroma of her buds, intensely fruity with hints of exotic fruit, lemon, tangerine and, needless to say, diesel oil. And make sure to have a good odour control system if you want to keep a low profile.

Balanced effect

Some strains knock you out completely, while others travel through your body with a much softer effect. Well, Diesel is somewhere in the middle. After all, whatever her many qualities, what has conquered the hearts of millions of American users is her perfectly bearable effect. Despite being a quite cerebral strain – she has a THC content of up to 16% – she won't make you groggy. Instead, she will relax you and set the mood for a great evening amongst friends. And don't be put off by her long-lasting effect, you'll all have a ball while it lasts. Still not convinced to give Dinafem's feminised Diesel a try for your next grow?
