Art and cannabis can come together in surprising ways. The artist Aimee Hilsenhoff has really shown that by creating a miniature town using hemp and recycled materials as part of the competition 'High Art' organised by the specialised American website 'High Times'.
Readers contribute their own cannabis related creations, ranging from drawings and painting to sculptures and murals. The carefully created work by Aimee Hilsenhoff was one of the pieces that most surprised the editors. It shows that hemp can be used to build a tiny farming town with homes and barns.
No town can survive without a market, and Hilsenhoff has also used the plant to create a small and highly detailed fruit and vegetable stand, with a name that could not be any more cannabis related: 420 Market. Remember that 4/20 is the favourite number of every marijuana lover.
Hemp can also be used to make a pub that looks like it could have come straight out of a Western movie: Sativa Saloon.
The plant can even be used as a base material to create a vantage point from where diminutive inhabitants can smoke marijuana while gazing out at sunsets.
People who adore cannabis can also be religious, and the artist has created the world's first hemp church (although the size makes it a little difficult to go in and pray).
Works of art have nothing to do with materials, so if you too are a marijuana fan, you can create your own works using hemp and a lot of imagination.
