Women Grow, Promoting Cannabis Entrepreneurship among Women

  • More than 1,000 women have already joined this professional network, which holds meetings throughout the United States. Its objectives include leading the cannabis industry and calling for nationwide legalisation.

Denver was the centre of the cannabis revolution in the USA after Colorado became the first American state to legalise recreational marijuana. The city has also witnessed another important event: the founding of Women Grow, a professional network of women willing to lead the cannabis industry and take legalisation national.

Its founders are Jane West and Jazmin Hupp, two women who have been described as "genius entrepreneurs" at Women Grow functions. West combined her work as an important company's events director with the organisation of marijuana dinners. "I am a successful professional, the mother of two young boys, and a regular consumer of cannabis, and that is normal," she explains.

Even though her marijuana consumption did not affect her performance, her company fired her after she appeared on television smoking. Ever since West has been dedicated to enabling women to operate in the marijuana business.

When Women Grow started out, these two female entrepreneurs managed to bring together 70 women to connect, educate and empower the next generation of cannabis industry leaders. Their meetings, which include yoga sessions and outings, in addition to talks by experts, have already drawn more than 1,000 professionalsin 30 different cities.

The first Thursday of every month they convene in Arizona, California, Colorado, Maryland, Oregon and Texas. This week, they will meet in Anchorage, one of Alaska's most important cities.

According to Women Grow, 20% of the owners of cannabis-related companies

today are women, representing a big success, to which they are contributing.
